About The Club

DCRR was founded in September 2007 by the Dutton family, as a way to give back to the sport that has shaped their lives.

The requirments of the Office of Fair Trading to form a Club, meant that the organisation needed 12 founding members.  Of those members, 10 were from Dutton's immediate family.  A petition to CQ outlining the goals of the Club saw affiliation approved in November 2007.  The petition highlighted a desire for an inclusive sporting Club, where partners and families were involved, and riders who participated in both racing and recreation were provided for.

The first Club bunch ride occured in March 2008, with a massive 4 riders participating.   Membership has grown to now over 250 people, making DCRR one of the fastest growing cycling Club's in QLD.  In 2010, DCRR was awarded "Club of the Year" by Cycling QLD.

The Club membership is approximately 40% racing licences and 60% recreation, and DCRR is proud to have a large proportion of women members.  We are proud to say our bunch rides now see over 70 people participate on a good day, and DCRR fielded 6 teams in the State Time Trial Titles in 2010.

The Club could not be what it is without the support of its wonderful members who contribute their time and ideas to make DCRR an amazing Club.  The Club is already more than what the Dutton Family could have hope for, and we invite you to help shape the future of what is to be one of QLD's best Clubs.

If you are looking for a Club that is active and socially focused, we'd love to have you a part of the DCRR family.
