Meet the Team

Kurt Dutton started racing when he was 10 and except for a couple of years in his early 20s, he's been on the bike ever since. The highlight of his career was winning the Elite Men's State Road Title in 2004.   Kurt only really started in the bike industry in 2005, working as a casual. From there he realised what he was supposed to be doing with his life!  He loves fixing and servicing bikes - taking a roady covered in grit with bits not working and handing back a bike that looks and rides like it was brand new. He is a perfectionist, runs a strict workshop and understands how important it is to have a machine running at its best. He is one of the Team Mechanics for the UCI Budget Forklifts team and is a government qualified Bicycle Mechanic.  Kurt served as President of the Club since its inception in 2007 until 2011.

Kelli Dutton is Kurt's wife and looks after the behind the scenes work for the shop.  Her background is in sales and marketing and she currently works full time in the IT industry.   She is also completing her MBA at uni by distance education and was Secretary of the Club since its inception in 2007 until 2011.  Kelli is a social rider and can sometimes be seen on the Ladies Bunch ride on a Sunday.

Stuary Mulhern currently rides Elite A in a sponsored team here in Brisbane.  He most recent wins included a Gold in the Team Pursuit and a Bronze in the Individual Pursuit at the State Track Titles in 2010.   Stuart was selected to attend the AIS Development Camp in Canberra this year.

Nick Barron is the youngest member of the Dutton Cycles team and found his way to the shop via work experience at school.  Currently in Grade 11, Nick is a triathlete and trains and competes regularly. He is ranked in the top 50 in the State and was the winner of his Age Division in the Raby Bay Tri Series.  He has also been selected for the Triathlon QLD development squad.

Dave Betts has been the recipient of the AIS Scholarship for Cycling and raced in Europe for the Tennix Team.  He has won multiple state and national medals and was awarded the Most Aggrissive Rider Jersey in the 2005 Tour Down Under.  Coming from a family of cyclists, Dave has lived and breathed cycling all his life.  His new passion is developing the Betts Team Pursuit Squad, made up of his 2 year old son and his 8 month old triplet boys.

Jordan Kerby is a dual World Champion on the Track, taking out Golds in the U19  Point Score and Team Pursuit in the 2010 World Championships. He was a member of the 2011 Australian Track World Cup Team that raced in Manchester and is currently riding for the AIS team in Europe.  Jordan was named QLD Cyclist of the Year for 2010.
